Ficelle

A lightweight, private notes app for your computer and your phone.

Caution

From 2027, Google plans to check the developer of every Android app, APKs from outside the Play Store included, which may make installing Ficelle harder. See Android developer verification.

Warning

Ficelle is in early development, it is recommended to keep backups of your notes.

What it does

  • Write in Markdown, formatted as you type, with tables, task lists, code, images and attachments.
  • Keep it private, notes can be encrypted on your device, and synced end-to-end encrypted.
  • Sync your devices through a server you host yourself, or keep everything on one device.
  • Undo anything, every note keeps its earlier versions.

Download

Ficelle runs on Windows, Linux and Android. Get it from the latest release. ARM builds for Windows and Linux are coming soon.

macOS is coming soon with the Beta releases. iOS needs testers with an iPhone or iPad, see Ficelle on a Mac or an iPhone.

Your own server

Run it with Docker, see Self-hosting with Docker. Running it without Docker is supported but not recommended, see Self-hosting without Docker.
